During their childhood, Jean Boucault and Johnny Rasse are neighbours in a village very close to the Baie de Somme. As they frequented the same places, they very quickly discovered their talent for imitating birdsong. They then honed their skills to shine at birdsong competitions, particularly the one in Abbeville, which is the most renowned.
Thanks to their talent, the Chanteurs d’Oiseaux take part in radio and television programmes, at the closing night of the Namur Wildlife Festival and found themselves on stage together in 2006 with the pianist, composer and improviser Jean-François Zygel. Together with him, they take part in the Classic Cabaret on France Musique, an improvisation based on the film Nosferatu by Murnau and on the programme Towards the sky. In 2016, they are the guests of La Folle Journée in Nantes.
They collaborate on artistic projects with artists such as Yannick Jaulin, Bertrand Belin, Pierre Hamon, François Salque, Geneviève Laurenceau, Lidija Bizjak and Vincent Peirani.
In May 2023, they are publishing the book with Les Arènes Bird Singers, which very quickly became bestseller.
Eva Zavaro’s recording of the Sonata for violin and piano by Oskar C. Posa, published in September 2025, was a huge international critical success: Choc de Classica, 4T of Télérama, Record of the Year for Alex Ross (The New Yorker), Selection Le Monde, Golden Key of the Year ResMusica, Album of the Month Scherzo, Limelight Editor’s Choice.
