“To tell a story and move people”
Such are the powers of music, according to Eva Zavaro, a brilliant violinist who hails from the Paris National Conservatoire of Music (classes taught by Roland Daugareil, Suzanne Gessner and Christophe Poiget) and then the Munich University of Music (with Julia Fischer). Nominated in the category «Instrumental Soloist of the Year» At the 2021 Victoires de la Musique awards, she was a winner at the 2018 Johannes Brahms International Competition (First Prize and the Vadim Repin Prize) and received the 2016 Georges Enesco Prize from SACEM.
At the age of 14, Eva Zavaro performed with the London Symphony Orchestra and Sir J. E. Gardiner at the Salle Pleyel. Since then, she has collaborated with numerous orchestras (Rudolfinum in Prague, the’Paris Orchestra and Alain Altinoglu, the Pau-Pays de Béarn Orchestra and Fayçal Karoui, the Potsdam Chamber Orchestra).
In March 2021, she started at the Paris Philharmonic with the Orchestre de Paris and Julien Masmondet. In 2025, she will play the Saint-Saëns’ concerto with the’Kuopio Orchestra (Finland) under the direction of Aliisa Neige-Barriere, and then performs the Dvořák’s concerto with the Sinfonia Varsovia and Julien Masmondet at the Folle Journée de Nantes 2026.
In her recitals, she performs at Gstaad Music Festival, at the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Festival, to the Évian Music Festival as well as to the Concert Hall from Berlin.
She has created numerous works, some of which are dedicated to her (Pascal Zavaro, Lucas Debargue, Karol Beffa). It recorded the Pierre Wissmer’s Concerto No. 2 with the Hungarian Symphony Orchestra and Alain Pâris (Claves). In 2024, she recorded alongside Clément Lefebvre Notturno, a programme she devotes to Szymanowski and Fauré, a tribute to his French and Polish heritage. An album released by La Dolce Volta.
Eva Zavaro plays on a an Italian violin known as the «Cornell, McMenemy» bringing together a collection of Nicolò Amati along with that of’Antonio Stradivari, which has been kindly lent to him.
Eva Zavaro’s recording of the Sonata for violin and piano by Oskar C. Posa, published in September 2025, was a huge international critical success: Choc de Classica, 4T of Télérama, Record of the Year for Alex Ross (The New Yorker), Selection Le Monde, Golden Key of the Year ResMusica, Album of the Month Scherzo, Limelight Editor’s Choice.
